SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY MODELING associate

Shelby was born and raised in North Carolina, where she pursued her bachelors degree in Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University.  After graduating, Shelby worked in the water resources engineering field for three years helping public and private clients understand their flooding potential through geospatial mapping and engineering modelling.  Through this experience, she witnessed, mapped, and predicted worsening storm events due to climate change and decided to return to graduate school to pivot her career into a more proactive role in mitigating the global warming of the planet.

Shelby received her master's degree in Sustainable Energy and Environmental Management from Georgia Institute of Technology. During graduate school, she gained experience in the nonprofit sector by interning with CALSTART where she helped clients assess the techno-economic feasibility  zero-emission bus deployment.  Additionally, she gained experience in greenhouse accounting by quantifying scope 3 emissions from on-campus waste operations for the Office of Infrastructure and Sustainability.

Shelby is eager to join the team of experts at Lotus to work on climate action projects and find innovative ways to communicate complex data for Lotus' clients.
