Tom Herrod

MANAGING DIRECTOR of Greenhouse Gas Accounting, Modeling, and Visualization

Tom’s interest in sustainability was born from the writings of ecologists like John Janovy and Aldo Leopold.  That interest grew while spending time in Western Nebraska and fully appreciating the unique beauty of the Sandhills region.  Immediately after graduating from the University of Nebraska, Tom headed west to Colorado to further pursue his interests through graduate school and working for the US Environmental Protection Agency.  Having worked at all levels of government and the non-profit sector, Tom brings a depth of experience and a passion to help clients build internal capacity while pursuing climate and sustainability goals.

If the land mechanism as a whole is good, then every part is good, whether we understand it or not. If the biota, in the course of aeons, has built something we like but do not understand, then who but a fool would discard seemingly useless parts? To keep every cog and wheel is the first precaution of intelligent tinkering.
